1987

The company’s strong expansion leads to the relocation of the company’s headquarters from Altstetten to Urdorf, Switzerland.

The Topmeter is developed and successfully introduced onto the market.

1985

Another “classic“ in the TACONOVA product range comes onto the market: the original Setter Bypass.

1983

The company is taken over for a second time. In the course of a management buy-out a Swiss investor takes over Taco Armaturen AG. In addition, for the further modification of the US products, not only do the offered products increasingly undergo technical improvements, the company also starts to develop its own products for the European market. This results in the Setter Inline, an innovative and extremely popular product, which is still an established component in the TACONOVA product range.

1980

Ownership changes for the first time. This year the world famous Guinness Group takes over Taco Armaturen AG. Product manufacture is integrated into Toper Boots in Liskeard, England. However, the company’s headquarters remain in Switzerland.

The subsidiary in Hoppetenzell, Germany is closed.

1977

The range of products is expanded. The company takes over the industrial fittings company Wirth AG in Basel. This makes it necessary for the company to change its name. From now on the company is called Taco Armaturen AG.

1971

Because of its steady growth the company relocates to Altstetten (CH) near Zurich. The manufacture of modified products is outsourced to Glattbrugg (CH).

In order to meet heavy demand in Germany a subsidiary, Taco Heizungen GmbH, is founded as an assembly facility close to the border in Hoppetenzell, Stockach.

1964

The US products are adapted to European standards for the European market. This requires constructive modifications and internal procurement and production structures. In-house developments that have been successful from the outset and are still valued on the market are: Airscoop, Taco Vent, Taco Hy-Vent, Taco mixing equipment, Taco room thermostats and many others. Numerous  products are patented.

1961

Taco Heizungen AG is founded. The trading company initially has five employees and its headquarters are at Militärstrasse in Zurich (CH). Its objective is to market the products of TACO Inc., Cranston USA in Europe for the European market. Today’s brand name, TACONOVA, is  derived from the name of the former parent company.
