TacoTherm Dual Zepto
The TacoTherm Dual Zepto is a compact, fully indirect heat interface unit for apartments and similar dwellings. It produces domestic hot water instantaneously with no stored volume and separates the dwelling from the heat network on both the heating and hot-water side. With integrated controls and Modbus connectivity, operators can monitor key performance data remotely, while provision for an M-Bus heat meter supports heat metering. The same controller hardware can be used for both credit and prepayment schemes.
Benefits

- Tested and UK registered to the BESA HIU Test Regime
- Fully indirect on both heating and hot water, separating the dwelling from network pressure and temperature
- Instantaneous domestic hot water with no stored volume
- Heat metering ready, with provision for an M-Bus heat meter
- Supports credit and prepayment, switchable by relay input or over Modbus with no change to the controller hardware
- Remote access over Modbus to live temperatures, hot-water flow, valve positions, pump status and alarms
- Remote adjustment of operating parameters, including DHW and heat-supply setpoints and thermal-disinfection settings
- Integral expansion vessel, safety valve and circulation pump, so no separate expansion vessel, safety valve or heating pump is required in the cupboard
- 9 build variants, allowing the unit to be matched to the dwelling rather than oversized
- Prepared connection for radiators and underfloor heating systems
Monitoring and remote access
The TacoControl Z1 controller operates as a Modbus server and can be integrated into a Modbus RTU network. Operators can remotely read heat-supply and return temperatures, domestic hot-water temperature and live flow rate, heating flow temperature, control-valve positions, heating-pump status and active alarms.
Key operating parameters can also be adjusted remotely, including the domestic hot-water setpoint, heat-supply setpoint, thermal-disinfection setpoint and duration, and operating mode. This gives the operator visibility of how the HIU is performing in service without needing to attend the dwelling.
Credit and prepayment on the same unit
The TacoControl Z1 includes a remote switch-off function. As supplied, this can be controlled through a hard-wired relay input. Where the HIU is connected to a Modbus network, the same function can instead be controlled over Modbus.
This means the same controller hardware can support either credit or prepayment operation, with no hardware change required when moving between the two control methods.
